Dog Bow Tie Size Guide: Which Size Fits Your Dog?

Every Muddy Paw bow tie comes in four sizes. The size is the width of the bow from tip to tip, so the question is really how much bow your dog can carry without it looking like a party hat or a speck.
The four sizes
| Size | Bow width | Usually suits | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Extra Small | 3" | Toy dogs: Chihuahua, Yorkie, Pomeranian | $5 |
| Small | 4" | Small dogs: Shih Tzu, Pug, Dachshund, Jack Russell | $6 |
| Medium | 5" | Medium dogs: Beagle, Corgi, Border Collie, Cocker Spaniel | $7 |
| Large | 6" | Large dogs: Labrador, Golden Retriever, Shepherd, Pit Bull | $8 |
Breed suggestions are a rough guide. Dogs vary, and some owners like a bigger bow on a small dog. When in doubt, go by chest width: the bow should be a little narrower than your dog's chest is wide.
How it attaches
Each bow tie has a velcro strip sewn on the back. Wrap it around your dog's regular collar and press it closed. There's nothing to buckle and no second collar, and it comes off in a second when photos are done.
The strap fits any collar 1" wide or less. If your dog wears a wider collar, message me before you order and I can make the strap longer.
Quick tips
- Between sizes? Size down for small or fine-boned dogs, up for fluffy or broad-chested ones.
- Patterns vary a little. Every bow tie is cut and sewn by hand, so the pattern placement on yours may differ slightly from the photo.
