Nautical Dog Accessories for the Ocean State

They call Rhode Island the Ocean State for a reason, and a lot of its dogs spend summer on the sand and the docks. These are the sea-themed pieces sewn here in East Providence.

For the walk to the water

• Anchor and mermaid bag dispensers clip to the leash with a carabiner and hold a standard roll of 8" × 12" bags. See the bag holder guide.
• Sailboat and seashell bow ties strap onto any collar up to 1" wide for clambake photos, boat days and summer weddings.

Beach-day tips

• Check the rules first. Many beaches limit dogs in summer; off-season walks are often welcome.
• Bring fresh water. Dogs that drink seawater can get sick.
• Mind hot sand and docks on sunny afternoons; test with the back of your hand.
• Rinse off the salt afterward, and take accessories off before a swim.
